GRE ID requirements in mainland China (2026)
Mainland China residents testing in mainland China must use their Resident Identity Card (2nd generation); a passport is not accepted for them. Hong Kong and Macau residents use the Home Return Permit, Taiwan residents the Taiwan Compatriot Permit (台胞證), and foreign citizens a passport.
